Shut Down Silver!
On August 31, 2018, CAS Student Council held its first event of the year! Over 500 students enjoyed an assortment of food, rode VR rollercoasters and racecars, and painted frames, mugs, and t-shirts to celebrate their arrival to NYU!
On November 11, the CAS Student Council Transfer Representative hosted “Transfergiving” in conjunction with the Transfer Student Association. This event is catered towards transfer students, and they enjoyed a mingling and a Thanksgiving dinner before making sandwiches that were donated to Bowery Mission.
On December 4, CAS Student Council’s President, Nicole Sunderlin, Vice President, Esme Brooker, and Senator, Kosar Kosar, led a Town Hall where they discussed various issues facing CAS students and listened to feedback from students in order to improve their experience at CAS!
On February 19, CAS students participated in the All-University Games where they took FOURTH place!!! All-University Games is an annual event where all of the schools at NYU compete in dodgeball, tug-of-war, ping-pong, cup stacking, and limbo, among other activities.
On March 26, the Curriculum Committee and Student Council’s leadership planned a joint Town Hall that was divided into two parts. The first hour was facilitated by the Curriculum Chair, Elle Desir, and was designed as an opportunity for students to express their thoughts and concerns about CAS’ Core Curriculum to CAS administration who were present. The second hour was a conversation with our President, Vice President, and Senator, where they led a discussion on more general issues surrounding CAS and CAS students.
