Service is so integral to who we are as students, to not only the city we call home, but also to the vulnerable populations that need our help. The CAS Student Council Service committee and Invisible Hands Deliver are partnering to promote service to the student body, now more than ever.
This event will consist of two virtual volunteer training options. Feel free to come to either (or both!) in order to be trained to start shifts with Invisible Hands Deliver. As the Thanksgiving holiday season approaches, food-insecurity is all the more strongly felt, but we can work together to help!
The Call Center: This role takes orders from the recipients who may not have internet access and answer questions about the Invisible Hands process over the phone, using a system called Mighty Call. A volunteer can also use their translating skills if they speak a second language! Shifts are: Saturday 9am-1pm, 2pm-6pm and Sunday-Friday 11am-3pm (partial shifts are available to fit in with a student’s schedule). The training for the Call Center will be from 7pm to 8:15pm EST.
The Captain Delivery Team: This team collaborates over Zoom and works together using Slack to connect recipients with the volunteers in their neighborhood to give them the supplies they need.
Shifts are: 9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm and 5pm-8pm everyday.
The training for the Captain Delivery Team will be from 8:30pm to 9:15pm EST. Also, here is a link to our video that tells more about what Invisible Hands Deliver does. We look forward to having you join us on Friday, 11/13 at Zoom.
